Vanity Fayre, enfant horrible of London's burgeoning burlesque scene and toast of the City's underground (Oxford Circus to be precise) comes from a long line of notable notaries, yet her initial beginnings lay shrouded in mystery...
Some say she is the product of a dangerous liaison with Tony Blair and Cher, but she remains tight lipped on the subject.
After years of sin and whisky in the Big Smoke, Vanity fell on hard times and left for sunnier climes, working someone else's passage on a ship bound for Africa. A freak storm shipwrecked the vessel and days later Vanity found herself on the variable shores of the BC coast and realizing she wasn't here to sell another reality show from the UK, Vanity was granted residency in Canada.
Known to be close friends with the infamous Kitten Blue, founder of the now legendary Kitten Club, the two were supposedly inseparable and talked of one another constantly although they were never seen together in public at the same time, prompting rumor that Vanity and Blue may infact be one and the same. (This remains unconfirmed at time of writing).
Vanity Fayre (aka) Michelle Livingstone is the founder and artistic director of the Stray Cat Cabaret As well as producing and directing, she's rewrites a lot of the songs you hear, with much irreverence and frivolity! She also founded and created the original Kitten Club Burlesque Cabaret which still runs in London today and is now produced by the delightful Delores Deluxe - www.thekittenclub.com
